IS it too early to talk about careers? The earlier you learn about careers, the more time you have to work for them. What is the most important thing to do when choosing career? What are some best jobs around the world? Have a look!
WiHEN I grow up, I want to be… Everyone has a different answer, right? But do you know what the key to this answer is? It’s knowing what you love and following it.
Doing what you love helps you move on. You may have problems in your study. If you don’t like it, you may feel stressed (有压力的) and might give it up. But if you are *interested in it, you try to think different ways to work it out.
Doing what you love helps you get to the top. Your interest makes you spend more time on what you are doing. When others are playing or having a rest, you are learning. Then success is never far away.
What can you do if your interest is always changing from one thing to another? Take it easy. You can have a try in each field (领域) you love. For example, you might want to take part in drawing classes and find out how much you like it. Every interest could be a possible choice for your future career.

Bill Gates, the Microsoft founder, was in trouble recently. When he shook (握) hands with South Korean President Park Geun-hye on April 23, he kept his other hand in his pocket (口袋).
US people may think this is not a problem. But people from South Korea see this as rude (粗鲁的).
People from different countries have different ways of greeting.
In France, women like a kiss on the cheek (脸颊) better than shaking hands. US people usually shake hands in a firm (有力的) way. In Japan, people usually bow (鞠躬) to each other when they meet.
So, mind your body language when greeting someone from another country!

9. Not bad at all
“NOT at all” is an everyday phrase. But for Huang Xiaoming, it was a big problem.
In 2010, Huang had a song, One World One Dream. His Chinglish pronunciation (发音) of “not at all” in the song made him a big joke.
He was sad for a long time, but then he wanted a change. He had an English teacher and studied hard for two years. The film American Dreams in China (《中国合伙人》) was his chance to prove himself.
He plays Cheng Dongqing in the film.
Cheng comes from the countryside. At school, his classmates laugh at (嘲笑) his English pronunciation. They say it is like Japanese. Cheng studies hard for a change and even recites (背诵) dictionaries. Finally, he set up a famous English tutoring (培训) school.

Huang says he is the real-life Cheng. They have no gifts (天赋), but they face up to their difficulties.
10. Emotional intelligence is the key to happiness
MOST of you probably know about IQ. It is the short way of saying intelligence quotient (智商). IQ describes how smart a person is.
There is another important kind of intelligence called EQ. It stands for emotional quotient (情商) or emotional intelligence. EQ is the ability to understand, use and manage our emotions (情感).
A high IQ helps people to get top test scores. A high EQ, on the other hand, helps people to get along with others, make good decisions, and deal with difficulties.
Are people born with a high EQ? Well, genes (基因) affect (影响) EQ. You can see that some babies are quiet, while others cry easily, according to Taiwan EQ education expert Zhang Yiyun.
But people can also learn to build a high EQ in their everyday lives, Zhang told Xinhua News Agency. The best time for children to build their EQ is before 6 and between 14 and 15.
A high EQ is a combination (结合) of a few different skills. Learning about these skills can help us to improve our EQ. But what are they? Let’s take a look!
Be aware of
(意识到) your emotions
On a normal day, we *feel many different emotions. Some feelings, like surprise, last just a few seconds. Others, like happiness or sadness, may stay around longer. Being able to recognize (认识到) these everyday feelings is the most basic of all EQ skills.
Manage emotions
We all get angry. We all have disappointments (失望). But we need to control it. It is not always the right time or place to express our emotions. When you are angry with someone, take a deep breath (呼吸) and slowly count to 10. It helps you calm down.
Understand how others feel
Being able to understand the feelings of others is called empathy (同感). Empathy helps us care about others and build good friendships and relationships (关系). It teaches us what to say and how to behave.
Self-motivation
(自我激励)
When you fail an exam, you will stay unhappy for a long time. But the right way is to learn to encourage (鼓励) yourself. Self-motivation gives you the energy and confidence (信心) to move on. It helps you to build a strong heart.
